Neat and easy to use as a basic back up for music and photos.
I found the encrypted file option really good for personal stuff that you may want to protect. One point I missed was when you set up the virtual drive the default value leaves the drive visible for "0" minutes when you connect it. ie - you just cannot see it. Once I realised and set it to 5 it remains visible for five minutes, but very nicely it dissappears after you have finished using it, so if you walk away from your laptop and someone else touches it they cannot see the private virtual drive.
I confess I am not a fan of Mr Jackson, and I brought this model as it was both cheaper to buy than the ones without the film (??) and it has a really loud gold case which makes it easy to find if you mislay it!! I am sure I will sit down and watch the film one evening, as the guy was always a great performer (like the drive!.
The slip case is a nice touch.

I recieved my Samsung 500GB. "THIS IS IT" hard drive today Thursday at 12.15, I only ordered it on Monday afternoon, as usual a brilliant service from Amazon, thank you. I'm well impressed with the design, it really looks good, I easily downloaded the Movie but haven't watched it yet,the movie has a license for 3 computer downloads so I guess my son and grand-daughter will benefit from it too, it takes up 1.17 GB of space on the drive but there's ample room for all the photo's and files I needed it for, I have dragged and dropped a few pictures with no problem at all, I'm well suited so far with my purchase, 3 year warranty too, can't be bad.

For Samsung S2 - 2.5inch
Brilliant product specially compared to larger external hard drives(3.5 inch).
For reasons -
- It doesn't need external power as compared to 3.5 inch.
- These smaller drives have been used in laptops from quite a while now, the tech. with these smaller drives has matured and is better and they don't go bad easily and have a longer life.
- Easy to carry and store.
- I bought a Samsung 2.5 inch external drive in 2003 and is still working perfectly. Whereas Western Digital Mybook 3.5 inch stooped working just a few months later.

I bought this portable hard disk because it comes from a reputable company and represented good value for money.
It's a truly portable hard drive, about the size of 4 floppy disks and needing no separate power supply, as it draws its power from the USB port.
I didn't primarily buy it for the Michael Jackson film although I found it quite watchable. Anyone particularly interested in buying the drive for the Jackson movie ought to be aware that it requires Windows Media Player (not suitable for Apple Mac or Linux users), can be played on up to three machines and requires Internet registration the first time you play it on each machine.
Aside from the movie the drive comes preformatted with a FAT32 filesystem will work out of the box with most Windows, Mac or Linux machines with a USB2 port. Like most hard drive manufacturers, capacity is quoted in 'metric' Gigabytes, that is 1GB = 1 000 000 000 bytes, and your computer will see its capacity as 465 GiB.
The gilt finish means that it will look stylish long after you have finished viewing the movie - it even comes with a carrying pouch.

Fact: vast magority of people do not regularly back up their computer. DO NOT LOSE YOUR FILES & PHOTOS!!!
I read many reviews for external storage and backup before settling for this product, and am I glad I did my homework. This is a fantastic product! I bought it with the Michael Jackson Movie because it was so much cheaper this way, and easy to delete the movie to gain the space anyway.
Other reveiwers had mentioned about file sizes and Fat32 verses NTFS - something I knew nothing about. I am so grateful to you all! Many of the files I wanted to backup were too big, so this was another learning curve, without too many headaches thanks to the reviews.
BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE To reformat to NTFS, first copy all the files from the S2 to your computer, especially if you want to watch the film. it is easy to copy them back again after the format. (In Windows explorer, copy the all the files on the removable S2, and paste them onto your desktop.) I tried initially to do the reformat using Windows 7, but couldn't. When I did everything exactly as per supplied instructions in Windows XP it worked perfectly. Now I have been able to backup all my photofiles and documents without hitch, and have easily copied those I wanted immediate access to onto my new computer.
I haven't used any of the samsung programs that I copied because it is so easy to copy and paste whatever I want in Windows explorer.
100% recommended product. Thanks Amazon for a great price deal.
